Our most recent change was to get new dinette cushions and a new table! Earlier, we moved the location of our built-in dinette and transformed it into a L-shape. We had reinstalled the old table. Unfortunately, it wasn't comfortable with the two legs and inability to move it at all. I spent some time and looked at other options. I wanted to find a new table, a sturdy table of about the same size and I wanted it to be able to slide away so that it would be easier than scooting across the seats to get into place for dining.

I found a nice table from a restaurant supply store. It was a little wider than our previous table but it was the same length. It has a center leg with a cross at the bottom for stability. The post and feet are made of cast iron, which keeps the table from tipping.

When we opened the table to put it together, we found that it has a dark wood look on one side and a lighter wood look on the other. We have light colored woods in our RV, so we chose to have the light wood be the top of the table.

Putting it together was very simple. We calculated the center of the table and used the measuring tape to get the bracket centered. It had fat, self-tapping screws which meant we did not need to pre-drill the holes.

At first, we thought we had tightened the base, but the table was wobbly and spinning when we set it up. I thought maybe the center rod was loose at the top, but when we turned it back over, Mike found he could take the nut off with his fingers, therefore, it had not been tight. Once he went out and found the correct wrench, he was able to get it fully tight and the table is now rock-solid.

I love the way we can slide out the table to vacuum, to make sitting and standing easier, and so that it's a more useful piece of furniture for us!

The new table, on sliders so it moves easily back and forth with the new dinette cusihons. I still have to velcro on the back cushions.

I also bought new dinette cushions, from RecPro. I got the oatmeal color and they are made from memory foam. The back cushions are just a tiny bit too tall for the curved, shaped top fo the bench, so we removed them. I'll see about cutting them down to be narrow and recovering them in more up to date fabric. It's such an improvement in comfort and the dogs love the new seat cushions. They also love the old cushions that are outside waiting to go to the dumpster!

I just love how our home is coming together. It's constantly getting more comfortable and more functional for our lives.
