Welcome to Lemon Fresh RV!

I'd like to share resources that have been helpful as we learned to live full-time in our 5th wheel. Please look around!

About Me & My Mission

We started this lifestyle because we had access to 7 acres of land with two old, falling down houses and other junk scattered around the acreage, along with a super-useful shop, some animal sheds, and a bit of old fencing and farm equipment. We wanted to have more time to clear the property and hopefully build a house one day. With that in mind, we decided to buy a used 5th wheel RV and put it on the property to live full-time and stationary. Not only has this given us time on the property to improve it, but it's saving us a lot of money that we are putting to our future house.

This is a challenging lifestyle and I'd love to help shorten the learning curve for others & share what is working well for us. We live with four pets – three dogs and a cat, and both work full-time jobs.

Getting Started in the RV Life

The best advice I received was to buy our first RV used, rather than new. The reasoning is that no matter how much research you do, it's very difficult to know what will work best for you until you live in an RV for awhile. We bought our 2005 Keystone Hornet 5th wheel off of Facebook Marketplace and we have been happy with our choice. There was undisclosed water damage and mold, which will get taken care of this summer as a DIY renovation project, but it's still a very solid and well made RV. Since we didn't spend as much as on a new RV, it's giving Vanessa the ability to renovate and remodel to her heart's desire!
